Guadalajara, capital do estado de Jalisco, é uma das cidades mais importantes do México por sua história, cultura e dinamismo econômico. Fundada oficialmente em 14 de fevereiro de 1542, foi palco de momentos importantes da história mexicana, desde a Guerra de Independência até a Reforma Liberal. A cidade é considerada o berço do mariachi e da tequila, símbolos culturais que atravessaram fronteiras e representam o México no mundo. Seu nome vem do árabe Wādī al‑Ḥijāra, que significa “vale das pedras” ou “vale das fortalezas”, em homenagem à cidade espanhola homônima.
Guadalajara se destaca por sua arquitetura colonial e moderna e por ser um centro tecnológico do oeste do México, conhecido como o “Silicon Valley mexicano” devido ao crescente ecossistema de startups e inovação digital. A cidade abriga anualmente dois dos eventos culturais mais importantes do México: A Feira Internacional do Livro de Guadalajara, considerada a maior feira de livros em espanhol do mundo. O Festival Internacional de Cinema de Guadalajara, um dos festivais de cinema mais renomados da América Latina. Sua região metropolitana é a segunda mais populosa do México, depois da Cidade do México, com mais de 5 milhões de habitantes em 2026. O que não pode perder Na gastronomia, destaque para o Santo Coyote, em Colonia Americana, onde é possível experimentar o tradicional carne en su jugo por aproximadamente $15 USD por pessoa. Para uma experiência mais popular, o Mercado San Juan de Dios oferece tortas ahogadas desde $3 USD. O Festival de Outubro celebra todo o mês com shows, exposições, atrações e eventos culturais para todas as idades. Entrada geral entre $2 e $4 USD, dependendo do evento. Como chegar e se locomover
Rodovia desde Cidade do México: 550 km, 6–7 horas de carro ou ônibus ($50–$70 USD). Avião: Aeroporto Internacional de Guadalajara (GDL), voos a partir de $70 USD em companhias low-cost. Hospedagem: hotéis boutique desde $50 USD/noite, redes internacionais $100–$120 USD. Transporte público: ônibus urbanos e Metrô Leve linhas 1, 2 e 3 ($0.55 USD). Uber e táxis também acessíveis. Melhor época para visitar: outubro a dezembro, temperaturas entre 12–26 °C, coincidindo com festivais culturais. Dicas práticas e de segurança Use roupas leves durante o dia e jaqueta leve à noite. Fique atento em áreas turísticas e evite áreas periféricas sozinho à noite. Utilize transporte autorizado e evite exibir objetos de valor. Levar dinheiro é recomendado.
