The city offers a unique blend of heritage, live music, and Southern charm. How to Get There Macon is about 85 miles south of Atlanta and can be reached via I‑75 or I‑16. What to See and Do The Allman Brothers Band Museum at The Big House: Located on Vineville Avenue, this Tudor-style home was inhabited by the Allman Brothers Band in the early 1970s.
