Peru à Beira da História: O País Decide Entre Duas Visões Opostas

Uma eleição tão apertada que pode ser decidida por milhares de votos e marcar o rumo do Peru na próxima década.

Poucas vezes uma eleição presidencial na América Latina gerou tanta incerteza quanto o segundo turno realizado em 7 de junho no Peru. Com mais de 27 milhões de cidadãos convocados às urnas, o país andino enfrenta uma decisão que vai muito além de escolher um presidente: os eleitores estão definindo que tipo de nação desejam após uma década marcada por crises políticas, protestos, impeachments presidenciais e profunda polarização.

Os protagonistas desta disputa representam projetos de país radicalmente distintos. De um lado está Keiko Fujimori, líder da Fuerza Popular e filha do falecido ex-presidente Alberto Fujimori. Do outro aparece Roberto Sánchez, ex-ministro de Comércio Exterior e Turismo e representante do Juntos por el Perú, uma coalizão de esquerda que propõe profundas reformas institucionais.

O extraordinário é que nenhum dos dois chegou como favorito absoluto. No primeiro turno, realizado em abril, Fujimori obteve apenas 17,2% dos votos válidos, enquanto Sánchez alcançou cerca de 12%, refletindo a forte fragmentação política peruana. Mais de trinta candidatos participaram da eleição inicial, sinal do enfraquecimento dos partidos tradicionais e da dificuldade de construir consensos nacionais.

À medida que a apuração do segundo turno avançava, os números mostravam um cenário de verdadeiro suspense. Pesquisas rápidas e projeções estatísticas revelaram um empate técnico praticamente perfeito. Algumas estimativas davam leve vantagem a Sánchez, enquanto outras colocavam Fujimori à frente por frações mínimas. A diferença estava dentro da margem de erro, tornando impossível declarar um vencedor.

O padrão geográfico do voto revela dois países diferentes dentro de uma mesma nação. Fujimori teve melhor desempenho em Lima e em várias áreas urbanas da costa, onde seu discurso de estabilidade econômica, segurança e incentivo ao investimento privado encontrou maior apoio. Sánchez, por outro lado, obteve forte respaldo em regiões rurais andinas e setores historicamente marginalizados, onde sua proposta de reformas estruturais e maior presença do Estado foi bem recebida.

A eleição também revive antigos fantasmas da política peruana. Esta é a quarta vez que Keiko Fujimori tenta chegar à presidência. Ela já havia alcançado o segundo turno em 2011, 2016 e 2021, perdendo em todas as ocasiões por margens relativamente estreitas. Nenhum outro político peruano contemporâneo acumulou presença eleitoral tão persistente.

Roberto Sánchez, por sua vez, emergiu como uma das grandes surpresas do processo eleitoral. Sua ascensão foi especialmente forte nas últimas semanas de campanha, impulsionada por eleitores que buscavam uma alternativa ao fujimorismo e por setores alinhados a mudanças profundas no sistema político e econômico.

Os mercados financeiros acompanharam o processo de perto. A possibilidade de mudanças significativas na política econômica gerou nervosismo entre investidores, provocando quedas temporárias em ações de grandes empresas peruanas listadas internacionalmente. O Peru é um dos maiores produtores mundiais de cobre, prata, zinco e ouro, o que faz com que qualquer mudança nas regras do setor mineral tenha repercussões além de suas fronteiras.

A importância desta eleição também está no contexto histórico. Desde 2016, o Peru vive um dos períodos de maior instabilidade política de sua história recente. Em apenas uma década, o país teve vários presidentes, enfrentando renúncias, destituições, investigações judiciais e constante confronto entre Executivo e Congresso. O próximo governo terá a difícil tarefa de restaurar a confiança da população nas instituições democráticas.

Outro dado relevante é que a eleição pode levar dias ou até semanas para ser oficialmente concluída. As autoridades eleitorais precisam processar votos de áreas rurais remotas, comunidades amazônicas e cidadãos no exterior. Em eleições anteriores, diferenças mínimas exigiram revisões detalhadas antes da proclamação dos resultados finais.

Mais do que quem vencerá, a eleição de 2026 já ocupa um lugar especial na história política peruana. O nível de polarização, a margem extremamente estreita entre os candidatos e a importância das decisões que o próximo governo enfrentará tornam esta disputa uma das mais significativas desde o retorno da democracia.

O Peru não está apenas escolhendo um presidente. Está definindo como responder a anos de instabilidade, qual modelo econômico deseja construir e qual caminho seguirá uma das economias mais importantes da América Latina nos próximos anos. O resultado final pode ser decidido voto a voto.
