Três Praias da Costa Rica Estão Entre as 100 Melhores do Mundo

Conchal, Cocles e Uvita reforçam a posição do país como referência mundial em turismo de natureza

A Costa Rica voltou a demonstrar por que é considerada um dos principais destinos de ecoturismo do planeta. Três de suas praias — Conchal, Cocles e Uvita — foram incluídas na edição de 2026 do guia Corona Beach 100, um ranking internacional que seleciona as 100 melhores praias do mundo não apenas por sua beleza, mas também por sua autenticidade, conexão com a natureza e qualidade da experiência oferecida aos visitantes. A presença de três destinos costarriquenhos na lista fortalece ainda mais a reputação internacional do país como líder em turismo sustentável.

O reconhecimento torna-se ainda mais significativo quando se considera o tamanho da Costa Rica. O país possui apenas 51.100 quilômetros quadrados, menos de 0,03% da superfície terrestre do planeta, mas abriga cerca de 6% da biodiversidade conhecida no mundo. Essa extraordinária riqueza natural transformou o turismo em um dos principais motores da economia nacional, gerando divisas, empregos e investimentos ao longo de várias décadas.

Cada uma das praias selecionadas oferece uma experiência completamente diferente. A Praia Conchal, localizada na província de Guanacaste, é famosa por sua faixa de areia formada por milhões de pequenos fragmentos de conchas marinhas, que refletem a luz do sol e dão às águas seu característico tom azul-turquesa. Esse fenômeno geológico faz dela uma das praias mais fotografadas da América Central e um destino ideal para mergulho com snorkel, natação e turismo em família.

Na costa sul do Caribe, a Praia Cocles apresenta uma paisagem totalmente distinta. Situada próxima a Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, combina areia dourada, exuberante vegetação tropical e uma forte identidade afro-caribenha. Suas ondas atraem surfistas de diversas partes do mundo, enquanto a música, a gastronomia e as tradições locais oferecem aos visitantes uma experiência cultural que vai muito além do turismo de praia.

Já a Praia Uvita, localizada no Pacífico Sul, destaca-se por abrigar uma das formações naturais mais emblemáticas da Costa Rica. Durante a maré baixa, surge um enorme banco de areia em formato de cauda de baleia dentro do Parque Nacional Marinho Ballena, considerado um dos melhores locais das Américas para a observação de baleias-jubarte. A Costa Rica possui o privilégio de receber migrações desses cetáceos tanto do Hemisfério Norte quanto do Hemisfério Sul, permitindo temporadas de observação durante grande parte do ano.

Um dos aspectos mais interessantes da classificação é que ela não avalia apenas a beleza das praias. O guia também considera critérios como conservação ambiental, cultura local, autenticidade, contato com a natureza e compromisso com o turismo responsável. Essa filosofia está totalmente alinhada ao modelo turístico da Costa Rica, reconhecido internacionalmente como uma das principais referências em desenvolvimento sustentável.

O turismo representa aproximadamente 8% do Produto Interno Bruto da Costa Rica e sustenta centenas de milhares de empregos diretos e indiretos. Antes da pandemia, o país recebia mais de três milhões de visitantes internacionais por ano, número que continua em recuperação impulsionado pelo crescente interesse mundial por destinos voltados ao ecoturismo, ao bem-estar e às atividades de aventura. A combinação de parques nacionais, vulcões, florestas tropicais e mais de 1.200 quilômetros de litoral transformou a Costa Rica em um dos destinos naturais mais admirados do planeta.

Outro dado impressionante é que aproximadamente 30% do território nacional está protegido por parques nacionais, reservas biológicas e áreas de conservação, uma das maiores proporções do mundo. Essa estratégia de preservação permitiu conservar ecossistemas únicos e, ao mesmo tempo, transformar a biodiversidade em um dos ativos econômicos mais importantes do país.

O reconhecimento internacional também beneficia diretamente as comunidades locais. A maior visibilidade de destinos como Conchal, Cocles e Uvita fortalece pequenos empreendimentos familiares, hotéis boutique, operadores turísticos, restaurantes e iniciativas de turismo comunitário. Grande parte do sucesso turístico da Costa Rica está justamente na distribuição dos benefícios econômicos entre as populações que vivem próximas às principais atrações naturais.

A presença de três praias costarriquenhas entre as cem melhores do mundo confirma uma estratégia construída ao longo de décadas: competir por meio da conservação ambiental, e não da exploração turística em massa. Enquanto diversos destinos enfrentam desafios relacionados ao excesso de visitantes, a Costa Rica continua demonstrando que proteger seus ecossistemas pode ser a melhor estratégia para garantir competitividade no longo prazo.

Mais do que um reconhecimento turístico, essa conquista representa uma validação do modelo de desenvolvimento sustentável da Costa Rica. Em um momento em que viajantes valorizam cada vez mais destinos autênticos e ambientalmente responsáveis, o país comprova que preservar a natureza pode ser não apenas uma prioridade ambiental, mas também uma das maiores vantagens econômicas e competitivas para o futuro do turismo mundial.
