EUA enviam encarregada de negócios para reabrir missão diplomática na Venezuela

Relações são retomadas após sete anos.

A retomada formal das relações entre Estados Unidos e Venezuela começou neste fim de semana com a chegada a Caracas da nova encarregada de negócios norte-americana, Laura Farnsworth Dogu, marcando a reabertura da missão diplomática após quase sete anos de ausência oficial.

Dogu desembarcou no Aeroporto Internacional Simón Bolívar acompanhada por uma pequena equipe diplomática encarregada de restabelecer a presença institucional dos EUA no país. A iniciativa ocorre após anos de tensões que levaram ao fechamento das embaixadas em 2019.

Em mensagem divulgada pela missão americana, Dogu afirmou: “Acabo de chegar à Venezuela. Minha equipe e eu estamos prontos para trabalhar”, junto com imagens de sua chegada e dos preparativos para a reabertura do escritório diplomático.

O retorno acontece em meio a mudanças importantes no cenário político venezuelano, criando novas possibilidades de diálogo entre Caracas e Washington depois de um longo período de confrontação.

A diplomata foi recebida oficialmente no Palácio de Miraflores, onde se reuniu com altas autoridades do governo, em um gesto simbólico que sinaliza o início de uma nova etapa de aproximação bilateral.

Segundo representantes dos EUA, o processo de reaproximação será guiado por três eixos principais: estabilização, recuperação econômica com reconciliação, e transição democrática, que deverão orientar futuras iniciativas de cooperação.

A Venezuela também anunciou a designação de um novo representante diplomático em Washington, reforçando o caráter recíproco do processo e indicando interesse mútuo na normalização das relações.

As relações diplomáticas foram rompidas em 2019, quando os Estados Unidos reconheceram o líder opositor Juan Guaidó como presidente interino, levando Caracas a expulsar os diplomatas americanos. Desde então, os assuntos venezuelanos vinham sendo tratados à distância.

Especialistas em política internacional afirmam que o retorno das missões diplomáticas representa um avanço relevante, mas alertam que uma normalização mais profunda dependerá de progressos em direitos humanos, garantias eleitorais e diálogo político contínuo.

A reabertura também gera expectativas sobre futuras parcerias em comércio, energia, migração e segurança, embora analistas ressaltem que acordos concretos exigirão tempo e negociações cuidadosas entre as duas partes.
