Tensões migratórias e políticas internas dos EUA estão mudando a percepção do país entre viajantes internacionais.

From a instabilidade política e social em Minneapolis até os alertas de viagem emitidos por governos estrangeiros, a política interna dos Estados Unidos sob a administração Trump está produzindo efeitos visíveis e profundos nas percepções e comportamentos dos viajantes internacionais, bem como na confiança da indústria global do turismo. Essa dinâmica complexa combina controvérsias migratórias, segurança cidadã e tensões diplomáticas que já se refletem em mudanças reais nos fluxos turísticos, alertas oficiais e economias locais.

Os Estados Unidos como destino sob escrutínio global

Em uma análise recente sobre como a política dos EUA está afetando o turismo global, veículos internacionais como The Business Standard apontam que medidas políticas, desde o aumento de tarifas até planos de monitoramento das redes sociais de visitantes, levaram vários países a emitir alertas de viagem e muitos turistas a reconsiderar seus planos de visitar os Estados Unidos. Organizações como o World Travel & Tourism Council estimam perdas significativas nos gastos turísticos, próximas a US$ 12,5 bilhões até 2025, e pesquisas indicam que quase metade dos viajantes considera menos provável visitar o país por motivos políticos e de segurança.

Esses alertas não partem apenas de governos; também se refletem nas decisões de operadoras de turismo e seguradoras de viagem. Por exemplo, operadoras britânicas estão evitando destinos considerados de alto risco, e apólices de seguro podem ser canceladas caso os viajantes ignorem recomendações oficiais. A percepção de risco, além dos dados reais sobre criminalidade ou segurança, está influenciando as decisões de milhões de pessoas.

Tensões internas e seu eco internacional

A cidade de Minneapolis tornou-se um símbolo das tensões migratórias internas nos Estados Unidos. A morte de Renée Nicole Good, uma cidadã americana de 37 anos, pelas mãos de um agente do Serviço de Imigração e Controle de Alfândegas (ICE) durante uma operação, foi registrada em vídeo e desencadeou protestos massivos e condenações nacionais e internacionais. O jornal El Espectador relatou que as imagens mostram Good sendo baleada enquanto tentava dar marcha a ré em seu veículo, contrariando a narrativa oficial de que ela teria tentado atropelar os agentes.

Esse episódio repercutiu muito além dos Estados Unidos, evocando memórias de violência policial e levantando questionamentos sobre o uso da força em contextos civis. Em Minneapolis, milhares de pessoas marcharam, vigílias foram realizadas e confrontos ocorreram com autoridades federais, enquanto líderes locais pedem a retirada do ICE e a revisão das táticas utilizadas.

O presidente Donald Trump ameaçou invocar a Lei da Insurreição de 1807, uma legislação excepcional e raramente aplicada que autoriza o envio de forças militares para o território americano a fim de manter a ordem interna. Esse anúncio aumentou a percepção de insegurança entre viajantes internacionais, especialmente em um contexto marcado por protestos sociais, tensões migratórias e uma cobertura midiática global que amplia a sensação de instabilidade.

O turismo global diante da incerteza política e social

Essas circunstâncias demonstram que decisões políticas internas de uma superpotência como os Estados Unidos podem gerar efeitos em cascata em escala global, influenciando não apenas as relações diplomáticas, mas também as percepções de segurança e as decisões individuais de milhões de viajantes. Em um mundo interconectado, o turismo já não depende apenas de atrações culturais ou naturais, mas também da estabilidade institucional, do respeito aos direitos humanos e da gestão responsável da ordem pública.

Esse contexto convida governos, a indústria do turismo e viajantes a refletirem sobre a importância de construir destinos que inspirem confiança, transparência e convivência. Promover um turismo seguro e respeitoso torna-se, assim, uma responsabilidade compartilhada, na qual a proteção das pessoas e o diálogo social são tão essenciais quanto a infraestrutura ou a promoção internacional, moldando o futuro de um setor cada vez mais sensível aos valores democráticos e à paz social.
