Foro económico de Mujeres LATAM: empoderando lideresas y rompiendo barreras

Un espacio para fortalecer el liderazgo femenino, la igualdad económica y el bienestar sostenible en América Latina

Cuando un salón se llena de voces que sueñan con transformar economías y sociedades, está ocurriendo algo profundo: no es solo un evento; es un movimiento. ¿Qué impulsa a miles de mujeres de toda América Latina a asistir al Women Economic Forum LATAM (WEF LATAM) año tras año? ¿Qué lecciones surgen cuando líderes, empresarias, académicas y funcionarias gubernamentales se reúnen para discutir la igualdad de género, la economía sostenible y el bienestar colectivo? Desde su llegada a la región, este foro se ha convertido en un punto de encuentro vital para quienes desean desafiar el statu quo y construir realidades económicas más justas e inclusivas.

Un encuentro con propósito global y regional

En esencia, el Women Economic Forum es una plataforma internacional creada por la ALL-Ladies League (ALL) que busca fomentar el diálogo, la colaboración y acciones concretas para empoderar a las mujeres en todos los ámbitos de la economía y la sociedad. Esta iniciativa no solo conecta voces, sino que impulsa soluciones reales en un contexto global que aún enfrenta profundas brechas de igualdad de género.

La edición Colombia LATAM 2025, celebrada en Bogotá en marzo, representa un hito en este esfuerzo. Bajo el tema del bienestar físico, mental y emocional como pilares del liderazgo femenino y el empoderamiento económico sostenible, el foro reunió a miles de participantes, con más de 300 conferencistas y casi 5.700 asistentes presenciales, además de decenas de miles conectados de manera virtual. Estas cifras demuestran cómo la conversación sobre igualdad de género trasciende fronteras y sectores.

Este encuentro fue más que un evento; fue una invitación a repensar la economía desde una perspectiva humana. Al abrir sus puertas, el foro planteó una pregunta silenciosa pero poderosa: ¿puede una economía prosperar verdaderamente si no integra las voces y experiencias de la mitad de su población? La respuesta que muchas encontraron allí fue que una economía que aspire a una prosperidad plena y duradera debe integrar a las mujeres como protagonistas, no como participantes marginales.

Voces que inspiran y generan cambios

Ponentes de diversos campos, desde representantes de organizaciones internacionales como ONU Mujeres hasta líderes empresariales y activistas sociales, compartieron visiones y experiencias que resonaron profundamente con la audiencia.

Más allá de las estadísticas, cada testimonio en el foro fue una historia de desafíos superados y retos aún por enfrentar. La presencia de figuras que encarnan luchas y triunfos diversos ofreció ejemplos concretos de cómo las mujeres pueden liderar cambios significativos en economías cada vez más complejas y globalizadas. Para muchas asistentes, este intercambio de experiencias fue la chispa necesaria para iniciar nuevos proyectos o fortalecer su compromiso con iniciativas existentes.

En un entorno donde las mujeres históricamente han estado subrepresentadas en la economía formal, espacios como WEF LATAM actúan como catalizadores: no solo destacan barreras, sino que proponen caminos para superarlas. Aquí, la creación de redes se transforma en acción tangible, y las conversaciones en propuestas de impacto.

Más allá del evento: legado e impacto en América Latina

Lo que hace especial al Women Economic Forum LATAM no es solo su escala, sino también su relevancia para las participantes: sirve como recordatorio de que la igualdad económica es un proceso continuo que requiere colaboración, escucha activa y compromiso. En un continente donde persisten problemas como la violencia de género, la falta de acceso a servicios financieros y la brecha salarial, el foro plantea un desafío directo a los sistemas que han excluido a tantas mujeres de los procesos productivos y de toma de decisiones.

A medida que cada edición llega a su fin, queda claro que WEF LATAM es más que una serie de conferencias: es un movimiento que siembra ideas, inspira a nuevas generaciones y fortalece una red de agentes de cambio. En nuestras propias experiencias latinoamericanas, hemos visto cómo este tipo de plataformas puede plantar semillas de innovación y esperanza, brindando a mujeres empresarias y líderes el impulso necesario para transformar sus comunidades.

Y aquí es donde la reflexión se vuelve personal: ¿cómo podemos, desde nuestras realidades locales, continuar el legado del Women Economic Forum? ¿Qué acciones concretas podemos tomar para garantizar que la igualdad de género deje de ser una aspiración y se convierta en una realidad tangible en América Latina?

Este foro nos enseña que cada voz cuenta, que cada red construida puede generar impactos multiplicadores, y que el camino hacia una economía más justa comienza con diálogo valiente y acción sostenida. En tu propio entorno—sea empresarial, social o académico—puedes ser parte de este cambio: apoyando políticas inclusivas, promoviendo el liderazgo femenino y, sobre todo, escuchando con empatía las voces que aún esperan ser escuchadas.

Próximo evento WEF LATAM 2026

La próxima edición del Women Economic Forum Colombia LATAM 2026 se realizará en Bogotá, Colombia, los días 4 y 5 de marzo de 2026, coincidiendo con la conmemoración del Día Internacional de la Mujer. Este evento reunirá nuevamente a líderes, empresarias y agentes de cambio de toda la región, continuando con la misión de empoderar a mujeres y fortalecer la igualdad económica en América Latina.

Además, el calendario global de WEF incluye otras ediciones regionales para 2026, entre las que se destacan: WEF‑New York, 11‑12 de marzo de 2026, Nueva York, EE. UU. WEF‑Dominican Republic, 25‑26 de abril de 2026, Santo Domingo, República Dominicana WEF‑Panama, 20‑21 de mayo de 2026, Ciudad de Panamá, Panamá Estas ediciones reflejan la expansión internacional del foro y su compromiso continuo con la igualdad de género en todos los continentes.
