Rio Carnival 2027Rio’s Iconic Celebration Returns With Samba, Spectacle, and Street Festivities.When: February 5–13, 2027 Explore More: Rio Carnival transforms the city into one of the world’s most spectacular celebrations. The main Group Special samba parades will take place at the Marquês de Sapucaí from February 7–9, bringing together twelve samba schools with elaborate floats, costumes, music, and performances. The festivities extend well beyond the Sambadrome, with street blocos, concerts, parties, and cultural events taking place across Rio. The traditional Champions’ Parade will return to the Sambadrome on February 13, bringing the six highest-ranked samba schools back for a final night of celebration. For travelers, Carnival offers an opportunity to experience one of Brazil’s most important cultural traditions while exploring Rio’s neighborhoods, music, food, beaches, and nightlife.
