La Cámara impulsa voto para liberar archivos relacionados con EpsteinUna petición bipartidista alcanza las firmas necesarias para presionar al Departamento de JusticiaEl 12 de noviembre de 2025, la Cámara de Representantes de Estados Unidos vivió un hecho histórico cuando una petición bipartidista alcanzó las 218 firmas necesarias para exigir un voto sobre la publicación de archivos vinculados con Jeffrey Epstein. Esta maniobra legislativa, conocida como discharge petition, permite a los congresistas llevar un proyecto al pleno sin el apoyo de sus líderes partidarios. La iniciativa, impulsada por los representantes Thomas Massie (republicano) y Ro Khanna (demócrata), busca mayor transparencia frente al hermetismo que rodea los vínculos de Epstein con figuras políticas y empresariales de alto nivel. La firma decisiva fue la de Adelita Grijalva, recién juramentada congresista demócrata de Arizona, quien selló el número exacto requerido para activar el proceso legislativo. De aprobarse, la ley obligaría al Departamento de Justicia a revelar documentos hasta ahora clasificados: registros financieros, bitácoras de vuelos, entrevistas y comunicaciones entre Epstein y sus allegados. Defensores de la medida afirman que representa un paso hacia la rendición de cuentas y la confianza pública. Los críticos advierten que podría alimentar teorías conspirativas o afectar investigaciones aún abiertas. Además, el Senado y el Presidente deberán aprobarla para que entre en vigor.
