A Formula 1 Fanatic’s Guide to Pan-America, 2027

Six Grands Prix, Two Continents, and One Unforgettable Road Map for Motorsport Fans

By Marbel Montoya for Ruta Pantera on 10/23/2026 11:23:18 AM

For Formula 1 fans, 2027 offers a compelling reason to turn the racing calendar into a continental adventure. From the electric atmosphere of Miami and the historic motorsport weekend in Montréal to the passionate crowds of Mexico City and São Paulo, the Americas deliver six opportunities to experience the world’s premier Grand Prix championship in different cultural settings. The season’s closing stretch is especially tempting: Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo, and Las Vegas appear in a sequence that invites fans to plan an extended trip around the sport. The official calendar confirms 24 Grands Prix worldwide and ten Sprint weekends in 2027, with six races scheduled across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.

The 2027 Pan-American Racing Calendar

Miami, Florida, USA | April 30–May 2

Miami opens the Americas’ 2027 Grand Prix season with a race weekend built around sunshine, entertainment, and South Florida’s international energy. The Miami International Autodrome surrounds Hard Rock Stadium, combining temporary circuit infrastructure with a city known for its beaches, Latin American influences, nightlife, and art scene. Make time for Little Havana, the colorful Wynwood neighborhood, and a walk along Miami Beach before the engines start.

To reach the circuit, fly into Miami International Airport or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and arrange transport to the Hard Rock Stadium area; allow extra time for race-weekend traffic. Book accommodation early because hotels across Miami Gardens, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, and central Miami may be convenient alternatives depending on your budget and transport plans.

Canadian Grand Prix — Montréal, Canada | May 21–23

Montréal offers one of the most distinctive city-and-circuit combinations on the calendar. The Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve occupies Île Notre-Dame, an island in the Saint Lawrence River, while the city beyond it blends French-speaking culture, historic architecture, cafés, contemporary art, and a lively nightlife scene. The Canadian Grand Prix is also scheduled as a Sprint weekend in 2027, offering an additional competitive session for fans.

Between sessions, explore Old Montréal, sample local specialties, and take a walk through the Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood. Fly into Montréal–Trudeau International Airport and use the city’s public transportation network to reach the circuit area; check the official event guidance for the best race-day station and entrance.

United States Grand Prix — Austin, Texas | October 22–24

Austin is where American motorsport spectacle meets Texas character. The Circuit of The Americas, commonly known as COTA, features 20 turns, elevation changes, and a dramatic climb into its first corner. Away from the track, Austin is famous for live music, barbecue, food trucks, and a relaxed creative culture that makes the city worth exploring beyond race day.

Plan time for downtown Austin, the live-music venues along South Congress, and a proper Texas barbecue meal. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is the main air gateway; the circuit lies southeast of downtown, so arrange event shuttles, an authorized ride service, or a rental car before arriving. The 2027 event is scheduled for October 22–24, following the 2026 United States Grand Prix weekend taking place this week, October 23–25.

Mexico City Grand Prix — Mexico City, Mexico | October 29–31

Mexico City brings a different intensity to the championship. The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez sits within the Magdalena Mixhuca sports complex, and the stadium-style Foro Sol section has become a memorable part of the spectator experience. The city itself offers centuries of history, major museums, extraordinary food, and neighborhoods that reward travelers who stay longer than race weekend.

Visit the historic center, explore the National Museum of Anthropology, or spend an afternoon in Roma and Condesa discovering cafés and contemporary Mexican cuisine. Fly into Mexico City International Airport and plan your route to the circuit in advance; public transport and race-day restrictions can make a difference to journey times. With Austin immediately preceding Mexico City on the calendar, fans can build a two-race trip across the southern United States and Mexico, although they should leave room for international travel and recovery between weekends.

São Paulo Grand Prix — São Paulo, Brazil | November 5–7

São Paulo is one of the championship’s most passionate motorsport destinations. The Autódromo José Carlos Pace, better known as Interlagos, has a long racing history and a circuit layout that can produce dramatic changes in momentum. Brazil’s Grand Prix is also scheduled to host a Sprint weekend in 2027, giving spectators another opportunity to see competitive action.

Outside the circuit, explore the city’s food markets, art institutions, and diverse neighborhoods. São Paulo is a destination for anyone interested in Brazilian culture, from contemporary galleries to traditional bakeries and restaurants. Fly into São Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport and arrange transport to your accommodation with Interlagos access in mind. The race follows Mexico City by one week, creating an appealing Mexico-to-Brazil itinerary for fans prepared to manage international flights and a busy travel schedule.

Las Vegas Grand Prix — Las Vegas, Nevada, USA | November 18–20

Las Vegas closes the main North American stretch with a night race through the city’s famous entertainment district. The street circuit runs around the Strip, placing high-speed racing alongside illuminated hotels, major shows, restaurants, and casinos. It is a very different atmosphere from the more traditional circuit setting in Austin, making it a fitting final stop for a trip built around contrasting Grand Prix experiences.

Fly into Harry Reid International Airport, which is close to the Strip, and choose accommodation with walking access or reliable transport to your preferred viewing area. Hotel prices and road restrictions can rise sharply during race week, so reserve early and review the official spectator information before committing to a location.

Build Your Own Pan-American F1 Journey

Route One: The Spring Grand Prix Escape

Start in Miami from April 30 to May 2, then travel north to Montréal for May 21–23. This route pairs two very different cities and gives you time between races to explore Florida, the northeastern United States, or eastern Canada. Since the race weekends are separated by almost three weeks, you can either return home between events or turn the gap into a broader road trip.

Route Two: The Autumn Racing Marathon

The late-season sequence offers the most natural multi-race itinerary: Austin, October 22–24; Mexico City, October 29–31; and São Paulo, November 5–7. Las Vegas follows on November 18–20. The first three events fall on consecutive weekends, while the gap before Las Vegas gives travelers a chance to rest, explore another destination, or return home before the final race.

This route is ambitious. International flights, immigration requirements, baggage, transfers, and recovery time all need to be factored into the plan. Rather than assuming you can move effortlessly from one circuit to another, compare flight schedules and arrive at each destination with enough time to settle in before the first practice session.

What to Know Before Booking

Tickets and race access. Buy through Formula 1 or the official promoter for each Grand Prix. Check whether your ticket includes practice, qualifying, a Sprint session, or the Grand Prix itself, and read the rules for grandstands, general admission, accessible seating, and entry restrictions. A race weekend is more than Sunday’s main event, and the best value depends on how much track time you want.

Flights and accommodation. Reserve refundable accommodation when possible, particularly for Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo, and Las Vegas during the late-season run. Compare the total cost of staying near the circuit with accommodation farther away but connected by public transport. A cheaper room can become expensive if daily transfers are long or unreliable.

Border and entry requirements. Check the latest entry rules for the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil according to your passport and travel circumstances. A ticket to a Grand Prix does not guarantee permission to enter a country. Allow time for any required visas or travel authorizations before purchasing non-refundable flights.

Budget. Account for race tickets, airfare, accommodation, airport transfers, meals, local transport, insurance, and a contingency fund. The cost of attending multiple Grands Prix can rise quickly, so decide whether you want premium seats at one event or a broader journey with more modest tickets across several races.

Travel responsibly. Race weekends can bring heavy traffic, crowded public spaces, and higher demand for local services. Use official transport guidance, respect neighborhood residents, and consider adding a few days to experience the host city beyond the circuit.

The Finish Line Is Only the Beginning

A Formula 1 journey across Pan-America is as much about the destinations as the championship. Miami offers coastal energy, Montréal blends European character with North American scale, Austin celebrates Texas music and food, Mexico City surrounds racing with history and culture, São Paulo delivers a vibrant urban experience, and Las Vegas turns the Grand Prix into a nighttime spectacle. With six races on the 2027 calendar, fans can choose a single weekend or design a trip that follows the championship across borders.

The smartest plan begins with the official race dates, a realistic budget, and enough flexibility to enjoy the journey between circuits. The cars may be the reason to go, but the cities are what make the adventure unforgettable.
